I buy old amps (guitar or audio) and old guitar pedals in “any” condition. Single items or large lots.
Gear for sale can be seen at the following links on Craigslist and Facebook.
"Mark, The old Silvertone sounds better than ever. Thanks for doing such a great job on it." (Dave K. 1960s Silvertone 1484 restoration)
"Thanks for the fantastic job getting these refurb amps up to insane tone monsters... Will be using them both for the Worcester Music Awards show next Wednesday. I'm extremely happy with the results you got me." (Mike M. 1960s Bassman and Pro Reverb restoration)
"I brought in a 1960 Gibson Discoverer Tremolo amp that lost power on me after 40 years. Also the trem wasn't working anymore. The Amp Doc (Mark) not only fixed everything but it sounded better than I ever remembered. I'm definitely bringing my stuff here from now on." (Sam Spinazzola Upton, MA. 1960s Gibson Tweed GA-8T)
"I own several Peavey Classic 50 combos and heads that date back to the early and mid 90's that still have the original filter caps. Mark has done the replacements on two of them so far and I'll be having him do the rest of them. Also had one with no output that Mark repaired for me. His work is professional, he uses only high quality replacement parts, and his pricing beats anyone else in the area. If you're serious about your amp and you demand a lot out of it, you can trust Mark to keep it working and sounding its best. I won't bring my amps to anyone else." (Jimmy Pircio)
With rare exception I am no longer servicing 90s or newer printed circuit board (PCB) based amps.

This is one of a kind with an impressive sound.
This is a c.1970 Traynor YVM-1 head that I converted to a Marshall JCM800 2204 circuit.
The LO input sounds like a JCM800 while the HI input sounds like a JCM800 on steroids
This is a loud 50 watt all tube amp taking advantage of the vintage Traynor quality and transformers with point to point eyelet wiring.
The tube line up is the same as a JCM800 2204 with (3) 12AX7 and (2) EL34.
Back panel not pictured is included.
Video of the HI input available at youtube.com
Has the same AA764 circuit as the older Blackface models. These were only made for two year during the CBS transition.
New 3 prong cord, death cap removed, new EH output tube.
Just completed restoration, any part needed was replaced including a new Hammond power transformer, filter capacitance, bias supply and 3 prong AC cord.
Includes the original Jensen P10Q 10" alnico speakers and the original tremolo footswitch.
Priced well below online prices.
Rare to find, collectible, sounds amazing and great tremolo. Read reviews online.
Completely taken apart, cleaned and serviced.
New upgraded filter caps, coupling caps and an upgraded vintage Hammond output transformer. 3 prong AC cord installed. Anything needed was replaced.
Some rust on the faceplate and staining on the blonde tweed tolex. Has a home-made back panel.
Cabinet is solid! Includes the original tremolo footswitch.
Just off the bench (July 2025) with a new matched quad of Russian output tubes.
All original circuit with the addition of an on/off switch and a pilot light.
Includes the cage.
Currently using it in my office. Come and hear it. Powerful for its size.
This is an all tube point to point wiring c.1960 Realistic Carnival Tube Amp head that I just gutted (July 2025) and built based on the Fender Champ AA764 circuit.
The results are fantastic with a blues crunch head that is very pick and volume responsive that can get very tube saturated and can get pretty loud for its size. Class A circuit putting out around 6 watts.
The tube line up is 12AX7, 6V6GT, 6X5GT. All vintage tubes.
Knobs left to right are Volume, Treble, Bass (On/Off)
Switchable 4 ohm and 8 ohm output.
Includes the cage.
